Supporting children with special needs in Dubai

Dubai, United Arab EmiratesThe Emirates Airline Foundation reaches out to two different charities in Dubai – the Safe Centre for Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome and the Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs. Both of these charities are committed to opening the doors of opportunity to children with special needs.

Located in Dubai, the Safe Centre for Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome provides a nurturing environment for children struggling with complex learning difficulties. In cooperation with one of the UK’s largest specialist education service providers, the centre delivers a proven programme of special education as well as speech, language and behavioural therapies that help children develop tailored learning strategies and build the confidence to fulfill their true potential. With help from passenger donations, the Emirates Airline Foundation sponsors teachers and has also contributed a school bus for the students.

The Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the nurturing and development of the special needs community in Dubai. Al Noor Training Centre provides multi-disciplinary programmes for ages 3 – 18, which prepare students for functional integration into society. Al Noor also offers physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, sports and music. Additionally, a work placement programme prepares students with an aptitude for employment. The Emirates Airline Foundation, with support from passenger-donated Skywards Miles, supports the staff of the Al Noor Centre, sponsoring their annual leave tickets.
