St John's Residential Bridge Course Camp

Andhra Pradesh, IndiaThis residential school takes in children from 25 neighboring villages. Some of these children have never had a chance to go to school as they are forced to work in the fields. Others travel with their families who are looking for work so miss out on an education.

The camp takes the children in providing them boarding and lodging in a safe environment away from the threat of child labour. The children, numbering around 100, are divided into groups according to their level of learning. They are taught subjects of a normal school with an emphasis on remedial teaching to help them catch up.

The Foundation is using donations to fund the food requirements for the camp at a cost of US $10,000 per year.
