A seven-member team of doctors and nurses from Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool, UK, visited Children's Hospital in Chennai, India, for a complex cardiac surgery workshop. The doctors flew on tickets paid for by Skywards Miles donated by Emirates passengers. Dr Arul, the team leader, wrote in to thank the foundation and this is what he said:
I have no words to thank the Emirates Airline Foundation for its continuous support and generosity. Our team of seven doctors and nurses from Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool, UK went to Children's Hospital in Chennai, India and performed nine surgeries. All but one went well and the children got better and were discharged. We also trained the local health care professionals and hope that this will help slowly change things.
Without the help of the Emirates Airline Foundation, we couldn’t' have gone to Chennai and changed the lives of these children by performing corrective heart surgeries. It was a very satisfying experience to see the smiles on those little faces. We were touched by the simplicity and gratefulness of the parents. We are all indebted to the Emirates Airlines Foundation for making this happen.

Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Dr. Arul Narayanan
